”She lives beyond the grace of God, a wanderer in the outer darkness. She is “vampyr”, “nosferatu”. These creatures do not die like the bee after the first sting, but instead grow strong and become immortal once infected by another nosferatu. So, my friends we fight not one beast but legions that go on age after age after age, feeding on blood of the living.”
Tomorrow I will be travelling up to Dublin, where I will venture into the the gothic world of Bram Stokers novel ‘Dracula’. The Annual Bram Stoker festival is held in Dublin from 26th – 28th October, and will celebrate the life, work and legacy of Dublin horror novelist. Its gonna be a jam packed weekend full of Vampires and horror. If I make it out alive, I hope to share my encounter with you. If you are interested in coming along yourself, check out the official website

Best wishes on a safe journey. Bring your cross, garlic and wooden stake. It would be great to attend myself but it is a bit of a journey to get there. I’ll look forward to your photos.

Thanks Chris, but I think those artifacts might do me more damage than the Vamps. 🙂

Thanks Marion, the only bad experience i had was with my feet, 😦 The Vamps were very well behaved. Hope to get some shots up in the next few days, 🙂

Good shoes are one of the most important things on such a city trip, right? 😉

For sure, I wore my trusty hiking boots, they serve me well out in the country on ruin hunts, just not so good on city streets i guess!

Hope the vampire festival went well, Ed. By an odd coincidence, we had some friends round last night and one of them was telling us about his experiences as an extra in the new Dracula film. Apparently there was a problem with the catering and a woman suddenly rushed in and shouted “nobody eat the chicken – it’s raw!”. Apparently he joined the ranks of the undead for a couple of days before recovering from the food poisoning …

How cool! Since I am home recuperating on the couch, and not participating in Halloween fun this year, I will enjoy your updates from the Bram Stoker Festival
