This week’s challenge image was a blast from the past. I had first visited the Casino in July of last year. No it’s not an actual Casino but an 18th century house, built in the neo classical style for the first earl of Charlemont. The house got its name from the 18th-century Italian word ‘Casa’, Casino (small house). Located on the grounds of Marino House just outside Dublin, it really is a stunning place to explore. Unfortunately entry is via guided tour only, but it’s well worth making an exception, if like me, you don’t like guided tours. The interior is just as striking as the exterior, with its exotic wood panelling and gold leaf designs. I also believe that since my visit, the Casino has undergone further improvements. If you are in Dublin, I would highly recommend a visit.
The original shots can be seen by clicking HERE. The rest of this week’s images for the Monochrome Madness Challenge will go live on Leanne Cole’s blog later today. Each week there is a vast collection of contributors from around the world with some fantastic Black and White Photography. I highly recommend that you head on over to where you can either contribute your own B&W images or view the images from this week’s challenge.
