I cant believe its been over three months since I last posted. I would love to say that I got lost on one of my Ruin hunts and ended up having an adventure, but sadly that was not the case. Thank you to those whom kept in touch, you know who you are and I greatly appreciated it. Between my new found love of Kettlebell training to improve my fitness and a few other issues along the way, I found it increasingly more difficult to get out shooting. But the good news is, ‘I’m Back’, Stronger and raring to go. So you can expect to see a hell of a lot more from me within the next week or so. I have got three months of exploring to catch up on and some really cool and interesting sites lined up to explore and share with you.
So to kick of my fresh start, I would like to share with you a guest post I recently did for my good pal and fellow Irish blogger, Ali Isaac Storyteller. It covers a period of my life prior to my photography as a medieval re-enactor and hopefully gives you a little taste of what life was like back then and of course the weapons used. For those of you whom dont already know Ali, we have been following each other for some time now, and both share a love for Ireland with its ancient history, mythology and lore. Ali is also quite the acomplished author, with some great works already published. So why not head on over to Ali’s blog and check out my first article for 2015, Combat in Medieval Ireland. I hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to comment 🙂
For these and more of my images, why not visit my Website or join me on Facebook or Twitter.
Good to see you again, Ed.

I did notice your absence, but that’s not unusual in the blogging world.
(I am glad that you have a logo of kettle-bells on this page, as I had no idea what they were!)
Looking forward to seeing some new shots, and glad that your time away was only because you were busy with other stuff.
Best wishes, Pete.

Yeah… I will dig it out and send it to you..
How is the weather in July? In Ireland.. I am thinking of shooting some ghost spots of Delhi, and it would be cool if you would be interested in shooting some similar places at the same time.
If July is too hot and sunny, then winter?
Assuming you think it is a good idea

Now your speaking my language. Weather here can be unpredictable, sometimes we get all four seasons in one day, lol. That is a great idea, and I have some great places to explore. How many sites where you thinking off?

LOL< Thanks Cybele, that was in what seems like a previous life. I gave it all up when the kids started arriving. Which worked out well as I swapped my spear and sword for a camera 🙂

a good swap!! much less dangerous unless you are climbing those crumbling towers to get a good shot!

Lucky you, the only blade I have left of any value is my kantana. It’s a live blade so I never used it against another blade 😟
