Re-work Wednesday 17

All along the Watchtower……………

Cruagh Watchtower

Here we are with another Re-work Wednesday. This week its back to last year when I visited the old church and watchtower at Cruagh, Co. Dublin. You can see the original set of images which I posted, in both B/W and Color by clicking HERE. The tower was quite unusual as it is not something that you would expect to find in a graveyard, but back in the 18th /19th Century the medical profession were in need of fresh cadavers for sceintific study. This led to regular thefts of fresh corpses from graves by enterprising folks whom could make alot of money in this lucrative trade. The tower was built in an effort to stop these thefts. A sentry would be posted in the tower and any unfortunate grave robber would very well end up in their own grave.

Very little was down to the edit, it was converted to mono in Photoshop with a little levels adjustment and de-saturation. And so ends yet another re-work, hopefully you are enjoying these images as much as I am. If anyone has a favorite image which they would like to see featured in the future then get in touch or drop me a line, I would love to hear from you, 🙂
