A Guest for Christmas

Christmas 2013 (4)

Rex the Elf

As previously mentioned we had a surprise guest arrive at our door last weekend. He arrived all the way from the North Pole with a special letter from the Santa himself. It would seem that Santa has now recruited a group of specially trained Elves to help him with the ‘Naughty or Nice’ list. Our very own Elf whom shall be staying with us until Christmas Eve, seems to be rather quite. That said he has some very special magic powers and can only be handled by Mammy of Daddy, if he is touched by the kids he might lose his special powers. Ryan, Ava and Dylan were captivated by our new guest and so far seem to be on their best behaviour.

Their first job was to give him a new name, which they eventually agreed on as Rex the Elf. These special Elves report and  back to Santa on how the children are behaving and return to the North Pole with Santa on Christmas Eve. If the children have been really good and made their Elf feel at home during his stay they might be lucky enough to have him return next year.

Now we all know that Elves can have a mischievous or adventurous. Well Rex is no exception. Every morning when the kids get up for school, there is a big panic to find Rex as he seems to like moving around the house. Thankfully he has not caused to much trouble whilst he has been staying with us and he sure seems to be keeping the kids on their best behaviour, we even managed to get the tree and decorations up at the weekend without to much drama. How knows perhaps he might come back to stay with us next year? 🙂

Ed, the sparkle in your children’s eyes is captivating. The elf will take one look, be totally smitten, and let them get away with anything. Love this post!

Thank you for sharing Rex with us. I had not heard of elves becoming guests before. How cute. I wish I had heard this tale long ago when my son was young.
