So this is an emergency post. Last week I posted about a charity calender competition for Epilepsy Ireland which I am submitting images for. The maximum allowed is 3 images per entry and I am having serious issues choosing. After narrowing down some of my favourite shots taken this year, I am still left with thirteen images to choose from. So here is what I was thinking of, and I hope that you will help me. Below you will find all thirteen images and I would really appreciate if you could vote for your favourite image or images, up to a maximum of three. The top three voted images will be submitted for the competition, and we shall wait and see what happens. So thank you in advance for your help, I really appreciated it.

Do the images for the competition have to relate to some particular month? I voted with that in mind, anyway.

They are supposed too, but I guess my images are a bit on the DARK side so might not be suitable for summer months, 🙂 Thank you so much for voting and helping me to choose 🙂

I vote for 11 & 12. But I had vote for the 2nd one to with less vignetage (I don’t know if this is the work in english but it the white circle around the picture).
Good luck Ed !!!!

Brilliant Sophie, I really appreciate that. I think you mean vignette, it was a natural occurrence on the really old camera’s but is now used to as an effect in images. It can be done using white or black 🙂

Thanks Ed, I know what it is but I am french and this is only the word I didn’t know;-)

Oh yes I forget that irish is not english;-) so ok we can make mistakes, the essential is that we understand each other!! Your french is ok I understand all except the two last words. But it is ok I understand the most!!

Ed, I originally followed your Blog after seeing the warrior overlooking the battle scene. but then I’m no photo editor – I just liked the story behind the photo. #12 is the pick for me- among a bunch of great shots

I chose 2, 9 and 10. My gut said some of the others could be lighter so better separate the subject and the background. But saying that I mostly do macro’s so not sure if I am that qualified.

After I voted I saw that two of my choices were in the top two although I originally had checked Ballinafagh first and then replaced it with the Black Castle. It was difficult choosing just three. I hope this helps Ed ! Great work !

Ever since I was little I have had a fascination with castle architecture, there is something about them that gives off an aura of beauty and power. I suppose voting for 3, 4 and 12 with that information would seem fairly obvious, however I did find it a somewhat difficult choice as many of the photos are fantastic in their own right, especially the more I looked at #1. The more I studied it, the more I found myself wanting to put it in the mix. Unfortunately, my bias for castles kicked in and I stuck with 3,4 and 12, but all the shots were phenomenal. Great work!
