Here we are again for another instalment of the weekly Monochrome Madness Challenge which is hosted over on Leanne Cole’s blog. So for this weeks image I’m using a sneak peak of some shots I recently took at Grey Abbey with my eldest Ruin hunter Ryan just outside Kildare Town. The last time I visited Grey Abbey back in 2011, the ruins were fenced off so it was good to see this time the site had been made safe and was accessible. I liked this image mainly because of the keep out sign, which was still there from 2011.This shot was taken in colour on my Nikon D40 and converted to Mono with Silver EffexPro. I find it does a much better job in converting to mono, as Photoshop tends to leave the image looking a bit flat for my liking.
Each week a ever-growing number of fantastic photographers contribute images to the Monochrome Madness Challenge, so why not head on over to Leanne Cole’s blog later on today where you can check out the rest of this weeks fantastic images.

I love that beat up old sign – does it say ‘please play here’ in kid?

Exactly what I thought 🙂

I LOVE this image Ed! That sign… not only is it inviting you to do exactly the opposite of what it says, but with only one wall left standing, there’s hardly anything to actually keep out of, is there?!! Its leaning at such a jaunty angle, too…

The sign looks like it says ‘Dancer keep out’ – the image that popped into my mind was of a ballerina in the window aperture, dancing with a wicked grin on her face.
