Here we are at week seven already, where has the year gone? So for this week I took another image from 2011 and gave it my mono treatment. You can read more about the history of Grey Abbey and view the original series of shots HERE.
Situated just outside Kildare Town and to the rear of the popular ‘Kildare Village’, retail outlet, the Abbey which takes its name from the colour of the habits worn by its monks, stands a partially crumbling ruin. That said, once you enter the grounds it feels like you actually go back in time. A truly special place to visit if you get the chance.
So that’s it for this weeks Re-work, hopefully to see I will be back on track and see you all next Wednesday for another image taken from the archives.

Love the movement in the clouds but also love the way the trees in the mid third have popped out almost like applique. I love the feeling of age and time in this photo, the crumbled old building against the strong statuesque sap filled trees and the passing of time, the clouds feel like they’re moving fast to me. Love it.
