Re-work Wednesday 30

Guitar Hero cw

For this weeks re-work I picked an image from a shoot I did with my kids and their cousins back in 2010. Ryan was only 5 and big into his guitar and drums at the time. This was also my first time to use my studio lighting, which I set up in our living room. This was one of my favourite images from the day and I played around with various Black and white options, which were cool, but looked to be missing something. So I boosted the structure and painted back in the colour of the guitar, for that colour-pop effect. I liked the tones from the mono and the bright colours of the guitar. Whilst writing this I just noticed that Ryan’s fret hand is in great position and is strumming on the neck. Not bad technique for a 5 year old. Eddie Van Halen can move over and make way for the new Guitar Hero 🙂

Love it too! What a cutie he was 🙂
Love it all, the selective colour, the cute kid, proud dad and that smile that shines brighter than the colours of the guitar!

Ryan looks a bright lad! Is he still into the music? My grandson – another Eddie – got into music at the same age. Now at 18, still at school, he is having engagements all over New Zealand. He “trades” under the names Lontalius and Race Banyon. So be careful what you start. Nice photo – well “improved” . Digitally?
Congratulations on your interview article – publicity is a great thing. Des.

    • Ah Thanks Des, Music is a great thing, which I try to encourage in all my little ones. Great to hear your grandson is doing so well at a young age, living the dream 🙂
These days Ryan is more interested in computers, which he seems to have a natural gift for. Having been diagnosed with both Dyslexia and Dispraxia, he struggles with learning and certain motor functions so we encourage anything that he shows interest in 🙂
